Big week for little Levi

So this last week, on friday, Levi got circumcised. We had no clue what to expect, I mean I was a week old when that happened to me. Levi was 18 days old when he had it done. We would have liked to gotten it done within the first week but insurance and its beauty didn't allow that. Also the doctor we were referred to wanted to wait for Levi to become 6 months old. Janelle and I were talking and thinking there is no way. I know in biblical times it happened at i believe 8 days old. So we called around asking different doctors when we should do it. After contacting a doctor in Oakdale and him saying we should have done it weeks ago, that was all we needed to hear. So we were able to get in the next day. When the doctor took out little guy away and after 20 minutes of him screaming and crying his eyes out it was done. The doctor came in and said he did great and that he didn't cry as much as most babies. That's because he's a Ingram baby but that's besides the point. So the doctor broke it down how it went and what to look for to make sure everything is healing and sings to look for to come back. One of the sings to come back was bleeding. Later that day I had to go to work and Janelle was home alone with Levi. About a hour into my work shift Janelle called me crying just as hard as Levi was in the back ground. "There is still bdfladjfal". That's what I heard. After calming down Janelle said "There is still bleeding". Janelle rushed back to the doctor and his first look at Levi was, "i have never seen it this bad". Great, that is just what a mom wants to hear after what just happened to our son. So the doctor had to apply pressure to try to stop the bleeding. He did that twice for 10 minutes. That didn't work. Great now what. The doctor had to burn around his little man hood that had just been traumatized to stop the bleeding. While this was happening Janelle had to hold Levi down cause the doctor didn't want to call for a nurse. So the doctor has a baby that was crying louder then any cry Janelle had heard and a mom that was crying louder the Levi. After all that he is doing fine and better then ever.

In the mean time it now takes both of us to change his diapers due to the extra caution was have to take in not hurting down low. I think Levi is taking advantage of this opportunity of having two targets now. Because we have been peed on at least once a day it not twice a day. There is nothing you can do cause I can't go in a grab it to aim it away and I am holding his legs so I trying to dodge it just with my head. We have been getting really close this last week. So for all you future parents who will be having boys get him circumcised within the first week cause the doctor said that after that the baby changes so much that his recovery time is doubled. And it is not fun hearing your son scream at the top of his lungs and there is nothing you can do. First lesson we learned as parents and boy it was a big one.

On a happier note his umbilical cord fell off the other day and it is so fun to look at his little belly button. And he now weighs 7lbs 9oz and is back to 19.5in long. And he is cuter then ever that's for sure.

Also I have been running with Levi with the stroller and man it is SO fun and hard. He loves to go running or maybe just out in the open. He just sleeps the time away with his head bobbing up and down. So I would say life is pretty good when I am out on the open road with my son. I can't wait tell when its on a bike. Soon.

Time to update

Its been a few days since I last posted something. We have been bad parents and not been taking pictures or videos. So now we are getting on top of things are got some new material.

Levi has been doing great. Sleeping longer during the night, which is great for us. Then the down fall is that around 4:30 in the morning he is WIDE awake. He doesn't fuss just up and ready to look around just like this tour de cute picture shows. So it is really hard to be mad at him when he is this cute.

Every day we as a family try to do something, both for mom and Levi. Although Levi doesn't remember nor does he see any of the places we go. To list a few he has been to the park, target, save mart and out to lunch. He has been a great kid while out and about. We are really thankful to have such a fantastic son. But I would say that target is his favorite place we have gone because he did make a noise. That could have been cause when we walked out I didn't have him positioned right and the sun shined right into his eyes. But I like to say that he just didn't want to leave. If noise is a sign him liking things then he loves bath time.

Tonight after I got home from work I had to take a shower and I get out to the wonderful sign of Levi crying his eyes out. I had no clue what was going on down there. When I got down stairs Janelle was giving him a bath. I feel this is better then words...

Now after the cries and then mommy holding him I felt a warm wet something on my foot. Come to find out Levi is peeing straight up in the air and it was landing right on my left foot. I had just turned off the camera or else you guys would have seen the yellow geyser. That was the first time that he hit me. I was able to move out of the way or he would hit himself on all the times before.

Being a parent really tires you out but you have to just keep on going. Levi is so demanding with everything. As I type right now he is just on the verge of going to sleep which is right where we want him. He is just so darn cute. Have I said that yet? Well he is. So I think I am done typing because I want to hold him. So there is more of this to come.

Honey do

Well because of Levi the honey do list has gotten pretty long. With momma out of commission for the next couple of week I am wearing the pants and the apron around here. When I leave for work I have to make sure I bring everything that Janelle or Levi might need while I am working. With the feedings up to one person at night that allows me to sleep and get well rested to do my house chorus before heading off to work. So it works out nice. As for Levi he is doing great. His big blue eyes are getting seen a lot more these days. Even last night at 4:30 when he was up for 2 hours and momma wanted to sleep. It is just so hard to get mad at him so I just sat there staring back at him. Kind of like a staring contest, which Levi won. Today we will be going to lunch for the first time. Where should we go? I don't think Levi will mind where we go.

He is also getting more and more comfortable being naked and changing. At first he use to cry every time we would change him. Now he knows it is only harder if he is fussy and squirmy. Now it is a pleasure changing him. Over all my little guy is doing great. Janelle just told him that he was getting fatter. I think this stage in life is the only time that getting fatter is a good thing. So fatten up boy.

The other day Levi smiled at me and I caught it on my phone. I was kissing him on his nose then he smiled. It was so fun seeing that. Then he smiled for Janelle later on the day. Our little boy is growing up. Next thing we know he will be shaving and driving, not at the same time I hope that is just weird.

Well until next time. Stay classy San Diego.

What a fun weekend

Man what a weekend we had here. It was sure great to have Janelle's family here. Thanks Ken and Peggy SO much for all of your help. I think it would have been a bit over whelming to just jump right into parenting. I don't think Janelle had to do anything which was so awesome. Then to Dave and Jenny and the kids it was so fun seeing you guys and thank you so much for coming down and seeing Levi and our little place we like to call home.

Well on Saturday Levi took his first trip to the park, and the new parents we are forgot the camera. But he had a wonder time swinging and sliding down the slid. Ok maybe not he just slept the whole time and didn't even realized that we even left the house. Ivy was doing all the fun stuff at the park. I a couple of years Levi will be the king of the jungle gym.

Then Saturday night he had his first bath. I was going to take a video of it but i decided to help. And it went great. So next bath time i will be filming so you guys can see how much he loves it and how cute he is. But we did do a post bath video so here it is.

Levi has been doing so great at feeding and sleeping. His poops have been getting bigger and better. And the diapers we have been using have been a little big so when he pees it gets everywhere. Mommy was holding him and then she had to go and change her shirt. So we are using different ones and I hope that problem is fixed. Over all this has been a great experience. And we love him so much.

p.s. He goes through SO many cloths. Laundry is done almost daily between the 3 of us.

First Doctors Visit

Well today we had Levi's first doctors visit today at 9:15. Over all a very good experience. Minus the fact that our insurance is all wacked out and we had to wait 2 hours in the waiting room before getting seen. After that was all taken care of we saw the doc and she said that Levi is looking great. Lost a little weight, which is expected, and went from and staggering height of 19.5 inches to 19 inches. Yes that is less but if you only saw his cone head at birth you would understand. There is a picture of his Marge Simpson head. Anyways the doctor said that he is looking great so happy parents we are.

Then later tonight we are making our first attempt on going out to dinner, since i won the bet on the time he would be born :) So this could either be bad or good. We will find out later on.

Last night was AMAZING he didn't cry tell 5:20. The feedings before that Janelle heard him fussing and she got up and feed him then right back to bed for the both of them. Your doing a great job Janelle. Then after his 4:30 or so feeding he wanted to stay up and play. So I held him for a while and he didn't go back to sleep. He ended up staying up for 2 hours then he started to cry. So over all a great night.

This little blessing called Levi Michael Ingram is such a wonder thing. He really has changed my life. The way I drive, the way I go about life and even the way i sleep. But I love him so much and I can just tell that he is loved by all, even the lady in the doctors office who said most babies are ugly but he is just the cutest baby she has ever seen. I agree.

Oh and Levi Uncle Bill is coming over tonight :) It is ALWAYS a good time when he is around. We will be waiting boy blue.

The Night Owl

I am starting to think that Levi is a night owl. During the day he is the most precious baby you will ever meet. Like I said you can pass him around and kiss on him and he is totally fine with everything. Then bed time comes around. Now it is a little early for him to have a 8 o'clock bed time or something like that. He goes to bed when we do. Something might change there. Last night he slept in our room in his pack and play. Wait....I just figured it out. Pack and PLAY. Ok This post is over.

Ok never mind here is our night. But he is still finding a new place to sleep. When we first put him down man he was crying like he lost his favorite stuffed animal or something. Janelle was trying her best to figure what was up and make Levi stop crying and SLEEP. She couldn't, then I came in and puff silent. :) Gotta love Dad. haha 10 minutes later water works. Ok so it wasn't just me. Come to find out he was hot. He was wearing this one piece outfit that was huge on him, he is going to get good use out of his new born cloths. So we got that fixed and time for bed. Hour later feeding. Then up for a hour, wide eyed and bushy tailed. His eyes are so blue and just amazing to look at. So that is fun but not at 2am. Feeding is done, wake time is done finally bed. Hour later crying just like before. Great. Now what? After 45 min of investigation, rear blow out. Which by the way looking more and more like poop. Weird. Then he was up more due to crying then up wide eyed for another hour. And i would LOVE that in the day time just not when i am sleeping. But all in all he is doing great and we are learning every minute of the day. I just wish he would switch his day time and night time patterns.

Nothing better then being home

So we left the hospital today around 11am and let me tell you it feels great. And Levi is so so so beautiful. It is amazing how much you love a someone that has been here less then 48 hours, makes us clean him when he soils himself and cries. And we have been luck to have a pretty quite baby thus far. But our experience in the hospital was just fantastic. We had a in creditable staff and like to thank them very much.

I had no clue what to expect when going into the hospital. And 2 days in there was driving me nuts. I had pretty good company there to keep me entertained. Levi is just a true trooper. Passed around like a picture and kissed on like a new puppy, like Winston :) Now Levi since he was 3 hours premature he was put through extra test. And you know we are blessed that it happened. Why not get the extra test to see how he was holding up. They took the little guy 2 times a day to run him through some test and every time they brought him back the Doc said he is doing great passed everything. So Levi is a very health baby at 19in long and 6lbs and 11oz. When we left today he weight 6lbs and 5oz. He lost a little weight which is perfectly normal.

Here is a little video that Janelle took last night while he was up from 1-5 and crying his eyes out. Janelle kept calling my name through out his little out burst and I slept through the whole thing. haha sorry. It is a new thing for me.

There is no real order to the pictures just up there so people can see them.

Soon to be

So in about 3 and a half weeks God is introducing us to a little guy we are going to call Levi Michael Ingram, our son. We are extremely excited. We don't know what to expect but i am sure Levi will let us know how we are doing. We, Janelle and I, will be posting up dates on this blog for you family and friends who aren't living with in seeing distance :( We have been thinking about how to keep every one updated on the first yellow fire hose or his first steps and we thought this would be the best way. I hope you all enjoy our little journey. Pictures and short video clips are to come soon.
